This
map shows the basic layout of the city of Monterrey. With a little
navigating skill, you can use it to find your way downton, to La Huasteca,
to pass through the city towards Allende and El Salto, or skirt the
city to the north toward Saltillo (toll highways are shown in purple
- they can be expensive). For more detailed navigation, buy a street
map at any convenience store (50 pesos). Be alert driving in Monterrey
- it's not as bad as the rest of Mexico, but signs, lanes, etc. seem
only to be used as general guides, with seat-of-the-pants driving
prevailing most of the time. |
