The climbing shops in the Monterrey area are concentrated in the rather wealthy suburb of San Pedro, on the way from Hidalgo to La Huasteca.. Aventura Verde is a small store dedicated to climbing; the friendly staff speaks English and will give you all kinds of local beta. However, don't expect to find a complete inventory of, say, climbing shoes. Power Sports and Outdoor Life are primarily bike shops but do sell some climbing gear, although often at very inflated prices. Explora just opened in Plaza Fiesta San Augustin.
